Scripture Memory

I keep Nate's memory verses in a little notebook, 1 per page. When he is learning a new verse, we work on it every day. After a week or two, he knows it well, and we review it once a week, different verses each day of the week. In the beginning, we reviewed every verse every day. After 10 verses, it just got to be too much for one day! Once he has 4 verses to review each day, in addition to working on the new verses, we may start reviewing some of them less often. Reviewing 5 verses in a day is very manageable.

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

1 John 1:9

These are intentionally simple or shortened because they are for toddlers to memorize. In a few years, I want to move to this, for more doctrine and full verses. I would also like to have them memorize full passages, like the full blessing in Numbers 6, all of Psalm 1, Psalm 23, John 15.
